Computed tomography – more commonly referred to as CT, CT scan or CAT scan – uses x-rays and advanced computer technology to generate detailed cross-sectional, and if needed, three-dimensional views of the body’s internal organs and body structures.
General Radiology, or Digital X-ray
X-rays are a form of radiant energy, like light or radio waves. Unlike light, X-rays can penetrate the body, which allows a radiologist to produce images of internal structures. The radiologist can view these radiographic images on a TV or computer monitor.
Mammography plays an important role in the early detection of breast cancer. A mammogram is a low-dose X-ray of the breast that is used to detect many breast changes too small or too deep to feel.
A mobile mammogram is simply a 2D or 3D digital screening mammogram that is performed inside the PIC mobile mammography coach. The coach is 34 feet long, self-contained, and heated, with a waiting and changing area for patients.
